End of Month Update

  It's hard to believe this is the last week of March! I am certainly excited for the snow to melt (goodbye to snow gear!!!) and warmer temperatures.  We are slowly but surly headed in the right direction!  ☀️  Last Monday, we celebrated the first day of spring by learning a new poem, Ode to Spring . We also brainstormed all of the exciting things that come with a new season.  Later in the week I introduced another poem for their poetry journals.  This poem was a familiar one for most of the kids, One, Two, Buckle My Shoe. It's so fun watching the kids proudly read along to a poem that they have previously learned.  Last week I introduced two new word wall words, was and little.   We are moving along with new books in reading groups as well as continuing to practice different reading strategies that come in handy when "stuck" on challenging words.  In writing, we wrote about feelings.  The kids drew different feelings cards (happy, sad, surprised and mad) and had to
