Busy, Busy, Busy!!! 🐝

It's safe to say we are on our final stretch of kindergarten!  It is ALWAYS so bittersweet for me as I think about the amount progress this class has achieved both socially and academically.  This is a tight group of kids that supports and looks out for each other.  It is such a bonus when a class has a wonderful dynamic such as ours.

We continue to forge ahead in our day to day work.  We are up to 43 word wall words.  That is A LOT of words to be responsible for reading and yet these kids are making me so proud with their consistency and effort in learning these words. This week in math I am introducing 3D shapes and their attributes.  In writing, we are wrapping up our nonfiction unit and will begin our opinion writing.  I always love teaching opinion writing as it's fun to encourage them to try to persuade me to be on their "side!"

We are ending the year by studying plants and seeds.  You will see in the pictures below, the kids all adding a lavender seed to our "class plant." Hopefully, we will see some sprouts popping up within the next week!

Below, you will also see some fun pictures from our visit with Mr. Drew.  The critters he brought in ranged from a tarantula, cockroaches (ew!), a tortoise and a very large snake! He was amazing with both the kids and adults!

Just a reminder that we have our field trip to the post office on Tuesday afternoon and Wednesday is early release.

Have a great week ahead!
